HOT OFF THE BLOCK RECAP

MISSION STATEMENT:

IT ALL CAME DOWN TO THE WIRE, IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE IT WAS GOING TO COME TOGETHER IN TIME.....
....BUT WE GOT A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS IN CRUNCH TIME....
....AND THEN EVERYTHING ELSE JUST WORKED OUT.
WE HAD A STEADY FLOW OF FOLKS ALL NIGHT,
YOUNG AND OLD.
I RAN OUT OF TIME TO MAKE THE PRICE LIST, SO THE BIDDING WAR FOR ART BEGAN.

THE PARTY WENT ON INTO THE DARKNESS.
THANKS TO ALL THE ARTISTS AND EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT TO THE EVENT, THIS PROJECT COULD OF NEVER HAPPENED WITHOUT YOU.

(*EVERYONE BESIDES THE WINO GUY FROM THE DRUNK TANK, WHO SPILT THE WINE EVERYWHERE. IF YOU EVER BECOME SOBER ENOUGH TO USE THE INTERNET AND HAPPEN TO STUMBLE YOUR WAY ONTO THIS BLOG, PLEASE LET IT BE KNOWN THAT YOU AREN'T WELCOMED ANYWHERE NEAR THE HASBEEN DESIGN COMPANY.)

HB hosts CHRC Fashion Camp

We were lucky to host part of CHRC (Cedar Hills Recreation Center) Fashion camp at Hasbeen Studios this past week. We gave the eager young fashionistas a brief tutorial on screen printing as well as button making. Everyone had a great time and got to bring home some keepsakes. We hope that this is the first of many screen printing classes at HB. Thanks to Caitlin and Shola for being such great counselors, and special thanks to all the campers for being so enthusiastic.

CLUB ROUGE NOW OPEN!

To add to our astounding strip clubs per capita ratio, Portland has a new Gentlemen's Club, by the name of Club Rouge. Go check out the sights and diversions at SW 4th and Stark.

R.I.P Donnie Wallner

Recently our good friend Stephen's dog passed away. To celebrate Donnie Wallner's life we made a small run of Donnie Wallner tribute t-shirts.

the back of the shirt reads:

Donnie was a good friend,

and a good dog.

He was one of us.

He was a dog

who loved the outdoors...

and fetching,

and as a swimmer he explored

the beaches of Oregon,

from Cannon to Arch Cape

and... up to... Seaside.

He died,

like so many young dogs

of his generation,

he died

before his time.

In your wisdom, Lord,

you took him,

as you took so many

bright flowering young dogs.

These young dogs gave their lives.

And so would Donnie.

Donnie, who loved to fetch.

Good night,

sweet prince.

BONFIRE PIPE 2 PIPE

Last weekend we drove up to the foot of Mt. Hood to Windell's camp for Bonfire Snowboard's annual Pipe 2 Pipe contest (www.bonfiresnow.com). Congratulations to HB team rider James Mccoy who took 2nd overall. For those who have never been to Windell's it is truly a dreamland, with all sorts of ramps, bowls, ledges, and hits located throughout the campus. (check it out at www.windells.com).
we ran in to some long time friends and HB OG's (left to right: Ian McMarten, Jesse McMarten, and CP) Ian and Jesse are skate coaches at Windells, so if you need to learn to shred holler at them. I think Jesse needs an HB tee.
much better.
